About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support operational functions across the business. This role is central to providing high-quality financial insight, planning, reporting and decision support to Operations leadership teams. You will translate data into meaningful analysis, challenge constructively, and help drive operational efficiency, cost management and delivery of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with operational leaders; provide financial support and constructive challenge to deliver operational plans and initiatives.
Act as a key point of contact for operational finance queries, translating financial data into business insight.
Support periodic performance reviews (e.g. monthly business reviews, KPI reviews).
Provide scenario and "what-if" analysis to inform decision making; collaborate cross-functionally to ensure rounded decisions.
Support the annual budget, in-year reforecasts and long-term planning for key operational cost lines, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned with strategic goals.
Engage stakeholders to align expectations and identify risks & opportunities versus plan, support mitigation plans.
Contribute to rolling outlooks reflecting latest financial and operational trends.
Produce and present period-end reporting with insightful variance analysis and commentary on key drivers.
Monitor operational KPIs, analyse trends and translate data into actionable recommendations.
Ensure reporting is timely, accurate and tailored for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Produce ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Support development of robust financial models and business cases for operational initiatives and investments.
Undertake ad-hoc financial analysis to support operational change and trials, including measurement design where required.
Support presentation of investment cases and post-implementation reviews, articulating financial benefits, risks and strategic alignment.
Supports the accuracy and integrity of financial plans and reports for operational cost areas. Influences operational cost performance and helps ensure delivery of financial targets.
About You
ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
Analytical skills with the ability to generate actionable insight from data essential
Strong Excel skills – handling large data sets to drive insight
Organised with the ability to manage own workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Seeing beyond the numbers to understand the wider business & market context
High attention to detail, working accurately at pace
Flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing pressurised commercial environment
Strong team player with the ability to work with other teams to build strong collaborative relationships
