1:1 Teaching Assistant

Sense Education are looking for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 morning support to a pupil with SEMH and SEND in a mainstream primary school. The Role
Working 1:1 with a pupil who requires emotional and learning support, you'll play a crucial role in helping them access the curriculum, regulate their emotions, and feel safe and supported in school. You'll be implementing strategies such as Zones of Regulation, visual timetables, and sensory breaks, alongside behaviour plans and close collaboration with teaching staff.
This role is mornings only, Monday to Friday, and is ideal for a TA looking for a focused, long‑term placement with a consistent routine.
The Ideal Person and Skills/Education Needed
* A recognised Teaching Assistant, Childcare or Early Years qualification is essential (Level 2 or above)
* Recent classroom experience, ideally supporting pupils with SEMH and SEND
* Confident in using emotional regulation strategies and tailoring support to individual needs
* Reliable, calm, and able to build strong working relationships with pupils and staff
The School

Hours
Mornings only, Monday to Friday.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
