An established, multi-site manufacturing business with a large production facility in Durham is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team.
This is a key role within the Engineering Department, offering a 50/50 blend of hands-on maintenance and strategic leadership. You'll support the Engineering Manager in driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the plant.
About the Engineering Supervisor Role:
* Support the Engineering Manager in leading a team of 6 engineers
* Lead by example across both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
* Drive continuous improvement projects to boost equipment performance and reduce downtime
* Work closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimise production flow
* Ensure PPM schedules are adhered to and compliance standards are maintained
* Mentor and support team members to build technical capability and a proactive culture
Ideal Candidate for the Supervisor Role:
* Apprentice-trained or formally qualified
* Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
* Multi-skilled with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding
* Capable of basic PLC fault diagnosis
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience
* Strong communicator and team motivator
