As a Prison Offender Manager in our Offender Management Unit team, you’ll help people move towards safer, more stable futures by managing and assessing low and medium‑risk individuals throughout their custodial journey. Your work will directly support rehabilitation and safer communities. You’ll play a key role in coordinating sentence planning, completing assessments, guiding individuals through key processes, and working closely with colleagues and partner agencies to support successful resettlement. What you’ll do as a Prison Offender Manager You’ll be entrusted to: Manage the full range of offender management tasks for low and medium‑risk individuals. Support probation officers with high‑risk cases when required. Complete interviews within set timescales, maintain case notes, and carry out risk assessments using the Offender Assessment System (OASys). Lead sentence planning meetings and coordinate activities with colleagues, partner agencies, and external organisations. Provide professional advice and written reports to criminal justice agencies and stakeholders. Liaise with Community Offender Managers on release planning, Home Detention Curfew, and Release on Temporary Licence. Encourage engagement with education, workshops, interventions, and resettlement pathways. Does this sound like you? Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple functions. Confidence working with IT systems, including case management tools. Vetting and checks An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
