Where will you be working?
Our Group Support roles are vital in helping over 11,000 people deliver infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport, and telecom. This role is within our Group Commercial team, which works closely with divisions to ensure the accuracy and continuity of commercial contracts.
What will you be doing?
As the Group Commercial Lead for Assurance & Process, you will oversee and ensure the integrity, compliance, and strategic alignment of commercial processes within the organization. Your responsibilities include managing commercial risks, implementing assurance processes, and guiding stakeholders. You will develop, implement, and improve both the 1st and 2nd Lines of Commercial Assurance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a consistent Cost Value Reporting (CVR) system across all contracts with Divisional CVR Management Reviews.
2. Lead Deep Dive Reviews into monthly CVR submissions to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of costs, revenues, and profitability.
3. Implement trend-analysis reporting from CVR data to support early identification and intervention across contracts.
4. Introduce best practices and automation tools to improve CVR processes and reporting efficiency.
5. Develop and maintain commercial assurance processes covering the entire project lifecycle.
6. Produce regular reports on commercial assurance findings and actions for senior management.
7. Create and lead annual commercial audit plans across divisions.
8. Collaborate with Divisional Commercial Directors to implement a Commercial Business Management System (BMS).
9. Develop training materials and guidance documents for new commercial procedures and systems.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
* Relevant professional certifications such as RICS or CICES.
* Senior experience in commercial management, especially within a Tier 1 UK Contractor.
* Experience with various contract types and arrangements.
* Proficiency in risk mitigation and opportunity maximization in construction projects.
