Ground and Water – Growth Lead (WSP UK & Ireland)
Join WSP in the UK & Ireland. This role is part of the Ground and Water team and focuses on leading the growth strategy and business development to achieve revenue targets.
Job Description
We are looking for a Ground and Water – Growth Lead to lead the growth strategy for the Ground and Water team and work with the wider business.
Responsibilities
* Report directly to the Ground and Water Service Line Director and collaborate with leadership to drive strategic growth objectives.
* Drive growth in the business via Ground and Water Sector Leads.
* Build strategic relationships with key clients and track strategic opportunities.
* Lead on complex bids and represent WSP at business development events to raise the team’s profile.
* Build internal business relationships and strengthen links across the WSP business.
* Lead projects both technically and commercially, typically in a Project Director capacity.
* Develop and implement the Business Development Plan in partnership with Service Line Director, Service Team Leads and Sector Leads.
* Prioritise accounts and sectors to align with required revenue targets.
* Maintain pipeline health & reporting, assess performance indicators and disseminate best practice.
* Upskill the team on client development skills, encouraging trusted‑advisor relationships.
* Develop BD reporting and communication structures.
* Support key client interfaces and account planning.
* Collaborate with the Proposal Management Team to deliver high‑quality winning bids.
* Develop a Communications and Marketing Plan for BD activities, including event budgets and thought leadership.
* Create high‑quality market‑facing collateral to support client engagement.
* Oversee client engagement across existing and emerging key accounts.
* Promote and drive client feedback, resolving care issues where needed.
* Measure progress using agreed KPIs with a data‑driven approach.
* Be a safety leader and promote wellbeing, fairness and inclusion.
* Work collaboratively with the wider business, supporting leadership initiatives.
* Communicate issues or opportunities outside your scope to the Leadership Team.
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Ground and Water services and Earth & Environment offerings.
* Represent Ground and Water across WSP Business and externally.
* Create a positive and engaging team environment.
Qualifications
* Relevant technical degree (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science).
* Working towards or prepared to pursue Chartership / Professional Qualification (e.g., QP) with a relevant institution.
* Ability to travel.
