An opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to work at Corby Community Hospital.
The Catering Assistant role will be flexible, involving work in the main production kitchen preparing and cooking meals for patients, general cleaning, deep cleaning duties, waste removal, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for patients and visitors. The post holder will be part of an integrated team including cleaners and porters.
Shift pattern: 2-week rota (subject to change), weekends paid at enhanced rates.
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 2.00pm - 7.00pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday 2.00pm - 7.00pm
Main duties of the job
Some of the main duties include:
* Communicating promptly, politely, and friendly manner.
* Liaising with catering and volunteer staff to ensure timely service.
* Understanding and complying with COSHH regulations.
* Cleaning kitchen and equipment according to schedules.
* Preparing, cooking, and assembling food using catering equipment and skills, including knife skills, slicing, and using steam ovens and brat pans.
* Preparing filled sandwiches, salads, and desserts for patients.
* Assisting with ward trolley preparation and delivery.
* Monitoring and recording food and equipment temperatures.
* Assisting with buffet and function preparations.
* Completing relevant paperwork as required.

* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
