Employee Relations Specialist
Birmingham - hybrid working (3 days onsite)
Daily Rate: £250 - £350 (inside IR35 via umbrella)
Contract End Date: 31st October 2025
Are you a skilled Employee Relations Specialist looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking a dedicated professional to join their dynamic team. The office is conveniently located just 7 minutes from Birmingham Snow Hill train station and 2 minutes from St. Chads tram station.
What You'll Be Doing:
In this role, you will manage both reactive and proactive cases, including high complexity and risk. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing full case management expertise for intricate Employee Relations cases, ensuring colleague wellbeing and safe resolution.
* Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to identify root causes and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data insights.
* Delivering timely and accurate advice on employment law, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance.
* Collaborating with Senior Business Leaders to manage your caseload effectively.
* Analyzing trends within your Specialist Hub to drive prevention and improvement interventions.
* Logging and updating activities in case management systems per SOPs.
* Supporting less experienced ER & HR colleagues through coaching and mentoring.
* Designing and leading training sessions and ad hoc ER projects.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
To excel, you should have:
* Extensive experience managing complex Employee Relations cases in a fast-paced environment.
* A strong understanding of Employment Law and the ACAS Code of Practice.
* Proven ability to analyze employee data for trends and improvements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
* Ability to manage workload independently while meeting SLAs.
* Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
