The Assistant Service Manager will lead the Housing Income Team, using data‑driven approaches to prevent debts escalating and to achieve high collection rates. You will manage resources, collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies, and support tenants to sustain their tenancies.
About the role
 * Lead and manage a team of Income Officers.
 * Create a positive team culture and set high performance standards.
 * Support colleagues to meet performance targets through coaching and feedback.
 * Combine analytical and people skills to produce management information reports.
 * Use data to target resources at the right time and place.

 * Challenge processes, nurture ideas and drive forward improvements.
 * Make evidence‑based decisions and finish what you start.
 * Understand the impact of external factors on arrears and payments, implementing proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
 * Knowledge of performance management, income recovery techniques and council landlord policies relating to tenancy matters.
Qualifications
You are a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and/or have demonstrable work experience with continual professional development.
