Since 1st July 2013, East Ayrshire Leisure has been responsible for the operation and management of a wide range of cultural, countryside, community and sports facilities and services.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Strategic Lead in Museums & Arts located in Kilmarnock.
Innovation and creativity will drive your Strategic Leadership of our Museum and Arts team. The focus for this team is to develop and deliver a programme of high profile venues, exhibitions, programmes and projects that are ambitious and outward facing, whilst maximising the impact on our customers and visitors. Your leadership will ensure that the facilities within your remit are dynamic and vibrant, are respectful to their heritage and culture, whilst responding to modern trends and aspirations. Across the team, you will also develop sustainable pathways that encourage lifelong participation in the arts
Key Activities
1.Provide Strategic Leadership for the museum and visual arts teams
1. Lead the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of events, programmes, displays and exhibitions across all museum and gallery spaces
2. Contribute to the implementation of the East Ayrshire Young Curators Initiative
3. Oversee the Artists work in Public Places framework
4. Manage, monitor and review the Collection Development Strategy and Collection Procedural Manual to ensure robust guardianship of the significant East Ayrshire Museum Collection
5. Develop and support large capital investment and improvement projects to ensure the implementation of the East Ayrshire Leisure Facility Strategy
6. Work collaboratively with the East Ayrshire Strategic Leadership team to maximise the impact of our Strategic Vision and Corporate Delivery Plan on our staff teams, communities and partners
7. Seek and develop mutually beneficial partnerships that will have a positive impact on the lives of our local residents and visitors
