JOB OVERVIEW
The Sports Supervisor will be responsible for supervising students at CATS Cambridge during sports provisions, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being. This role requires the ability to manage student behaviour effectively, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision & Student Engagement
Oversee students participating in sports activities, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
Encourage active participation and positive sportsmanship among students.
Equipment Management
Organise, set up, and pack away sports equipment before and after activities.
Ensure equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and reported for repair or replacement as necessary.
Attendance & Communication
Register students attending sports sessions and maintain accurate attendance records.
Liaise with the House Directors regarding student participation, engagement, and any concerns.
Student Conduct & Discipline
Monitor and manage student behaviour, ensuring adherence to school rules and sports conduct expectations.
Report instances of difficult or unruly behaviour to the relevant House Director.
Support the enforcement of the school’s discipline policy through appropriate channels.
Health & Safety
Respond to minor first-aid needs and report serious incidents to the House Director and College Nurse immediately.
Ensure that students follow safety guidelines and use equipment properly.
Collaboration & Professionalism
Work closely with other school staff to maintain a supportive team environment.
Take direction from the Deputy Head Co-Curricular, House Director, or office/site reception staff as required.
Participate in relevant training sessions during paid hours as needed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience & Knowledge:
Experience working with young people in a supervisory, coaching, or educational role.
Understanding of health and safety practices within a sports environment, however, training will be given.
Ideally holds a recognised Personal Trainer qualification or an equivalent certification in fitness instruction.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication skills to engage with students and staff effectively.
Ability to manage student behaviour confidently and fairly.
Good organisational skills for setting up and maintaining sports equipment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Personal Attributes:
Enthusiastic and approachable, with a passion for student engagement in sports.
Reliable and punctual, demonstrating a professional attitude.
Calm and composed under pressure, with the ability to handle emergencies effectively.
