Job Overview
We are hiring a Controls Engineer for our fully automated site. The key responsibilities include identifying optimisation opportunities, driving continuous improvement, and supporting large‑scale CAPEX projects.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain cheese and whey production operations to agreed health and safety, quality, engineering, and technical standards.
* Optimise line performance to meet reliability and efficiency KPIs.
* Carry out planned maintenance activities.
* Work with OEMs and contractors to ensure integration and compliance with site standards.
* Partner with engineering and OT teams to deliver CI agenda and reduce unplanned downtime.
* Write and implement software changes to drive operational performance.
* Contribute to programming and fault‑finding activities.
* Analyse line performance data and take appropriate improvement actions.
* Lead continuous improvement activities.
* Deploy advanced fault‑finding techniques for PLC controllers and SCADA systems and mentor across the engineering team.
Qualifications
* Automation controls engineering experience in a manufacturing/production environment with strong PLC programming.
* Knowledge of electrical equipment, drives, PLC systems, and mechanical fundamentals.
* Track record of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, working with peers across engineering.
* Experience delivering world‑class manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six‑Sigma, TPM).
* Experience with UK legislative and safety requirements.
