General Manufacturing Operative | Afternoon Shift Steelway Ltd | Permanent Role | Wolverhampton – WV2 Hours Monday – Thursday: 12:45 – 23:00 39 hours per week (plus any available overtime) Who We Are Part of the Northern Industries Group, Steelway Ltd have been trading for almost 100 years and are experts in our field. We design and manufacture secondary/access metalwork - metal flooring, walkways, staircases, platforms, ladders, fire escapes, handrails, balustrades, heritage & architectural metalwork, along with general fabrications in mild steel, stainless steel, and GRP. As a company, we continue to invest in our manufacturing facilities, including the latest plant, equipment, and automation such as robotic welding systems, automatic laser cutting, and CAD/CAM technology. About the Role Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit General Manufacturing Operatives to join our team in Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a well-established and growing company, working across a variety of manufacturing and assembly processes within our busy production facility. You’ll play a key part in the manufacture and assembly of high-quality metalwork components, supporting fabrication, finishing, and dispatch operations to ensure products meet our quality and delivery standards. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with the manufacture & assembly of metalwork products in line with job instructions and drawings. * Use a range of hand and power tools to complete manufacturing tasks. * Carry out general workshop duties such as drilling, grinding, & preparation. * Assist with loading/unloading materials & finished products. * Support welders, fabricators & machine operators with production tasks as required. * Ensure work is completed accurately & efficiently within agreed timescales. * Maintain high standards of quality & attention to detail. * Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures. * Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, & organised workshop environment. Key Skills & Experience: * Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or workshop environment. * Ability to use hand & power tools safely and effectively. * A practical, hands-on approach & strong work ethic. * Good attention to detail & commitment to quality. * Ability to work independently & as part of a team. * Willingness to learn & develop new skills. * Forklift or crane operation experience beneficial (training provided if required). * Understanding of workshop health & safety practices.
