The Community

A partnership between Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Limited (SWFC) and The Football League Trust.

Your Role's Purpose

The purpose of your role as Education Sports Tutor and Football Coach is to deliver all required high-quality sessions to participants, to support the organisations development.

Your Reporting Manager

As Education Sports Tutor and Football Coach, your reporting manager is the Post 16 Coordinator and the Football Development Coordinator.

Your Place of Work

Your usual place of work shall be Hillsborough, Sheffield, S6 1QB; however you may be required to travel to other locations (subject to business needs).

* To teach on education programmes as required.
* To ensure programmes delivered by the organisation meet the relevant curriculum.
* To be responsible in delivery and assessment of identified units of study
* To undertake pastoral/course leader role and associated responsibilities
* Liaise with; teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, external staff and students.
* To attend all staff and standardisation meetings, and other meetings, as required.
* To plan, teach and assess in line with the qualification requirements and Ofsted standards.
* To ensure learners are meeting their target grades in your identified units of study.
* To ensure internal verification measures are complete as required.
* Deliver parents evenings, ensuring you report on each student's development for parent feedback purposes within an education and football setting.
* To represent the programme and SWFCCP professionally at recruitment events.
* To maintain own CPD to enhance the organisation.
* To deliver high-quality football training sessions.
* To prepare session plans, as appropriate, in accordance with participants needs and programme needs.
* To ensure all equipment for delivery of programme is in place.
* To complete registers for attendees of programme, where necessary.
* To ensure all paperwork for programmes is submitted and stored correctly.
* To keep up to date with all education programmes run.
* To raise awareness and promote programmes.
* To coach an Education football team, attending training sessions and matchday activities and holding responsibility for this team.
* To be responsible for the recruitment of students and undertake responsibilities related to this.
* To identify suitable progression pathways across the Community programme to support learners development.
* To provide programme information to participants, as required.
* To support Equality Diversity & Inclusion practices and procedures in-line with the SWFC EDI action plan.
* To promote and adhere to safeguarding practices and policies, ensuring that any concerns are logged safely, securely and escalated through the CPOMS System, when necessary
* To maintain and undertake your own CPD.
* To always represent the organisation in a professional manner.

Qualifications/Training

* Teaching qualification (Level 3 or above)
* Degree in a sports related field
* Full UK Driving License and use of a vehicle
* Maths and English GCSE grades at 'C' or above or Equivalent
* Safeguarding training (can work towards in post)
* Introduction to Coaching Football qualification (Previously FA Level 1)
* UEFA C coaching qualification is desirable
* Satisfactory DBS check
* First Aid

Experience

* Experience of working in coaching or teaching is essential
