Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE
1. Undertake a wide range of duties at both dispensary and ward level, including contributing to medicines optimisation.
2. Check dispensed items for accuracy as an accredited checker.
3. Contribute to the efficient delivery of the Pharmaceutical Service to Patients, Wards and Departments both within the Trust and to other healthcare organisations.
4. Supervise the work of other staff in Dispensary Services section

JOB PURPOSE

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
17. NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services, BTEC in Pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent qualification approved by GPhC.
18. Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
19. Certificate of Accreditation as an Accuracy Checking Technician.
20. Significant post-qualification experience.
21. Dispensing of medicines.
22. Physically able to perform the duties of the post visit wards across all hospital sites.
23. Must be able to work methodically and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
24. Able to communicate well verbally with other healthcare professionals and patients some of whom may have barriers to understanding.
