Join Our Team as a Residential Deputy Manager!

North Lakes Children's Services is on the lookout for an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in Carlisle. We specialize in providing therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged 6-18, helping them build resilience, self-esteem, and essential life skills.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position with a base salary of £31,105.28, with the potential to earn up to £34,362.56 through sleep-in shifts. You will work 42 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, ensuring that our young residents receive the best care possible.
Your Responsibilities
* Ensure the Statement of Purpose reflects the needs of the young people in our care.
* Develop effective communication strategies to facilitate smooth operations within the team.
* Manage and develop quality direct services for young people.
* Implement North Lakes Children's Services policies and procedures.
* Identify and meet staff training and development needs.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
* Regularly inspect the home to maintain high standards of safety and comfort.
* Oversee financial budgets and ensure compliance with company expectations.
* Promote Equality and Diversity policies and Child Protection Procedures.
* Set and evaluate performance standards for the team.
* Provide vision and leadership to ensure effective workload management.
What We’re Looking For
* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
* Relevant qualifications: Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* A willingness to learn and grow.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
* A full, clean UK driving license.
* Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is a plus.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (which we will cover).
