Overview
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team based on a major nuclear project near Reading.
Location: Reading – Burghfield. Permanent – Full Time. Salary + Car/Car Allowance + Flexible Benefits.
Responsibilities
* Be a key member of the project quality team to satisfy contractual and company obligations in the areas of assurance, process compliance, defect management, and document control.
* Conduct periodic audits on project performance, and represent the project with internal and external stakeholders as required. Lead any such review accordingly, ensuring timely closure of resultant actions.
* Demonstrate appropriate health and safety awareness, ensuring the safety first and foremost is visible and alive through all project activities.
* Compile, maintain and communicate the project quality plan.
* Ensure that the company/project/client requirements are well understood throughout the project team.
* Assure that the inspection, test and quality processes and plans accurately reflect the quality plan, and that the appropriate customer approvals are sought.
* Ensure that the company or project defined process is agreed and followed for the management of project delivery, including optimisation of surveillance and verification activities, and the closure of visual inspections and defect management.
* Ensure that project document management and configuration is carried out in accordance with company and project requirements, and that accurate records/registers are in place and delivered in a timely manner to comply with contract requirements.
* Ensure that project team members hold requisite qualification and that appropriate competence can be demonstrated. Work within division/group to ensure appropriate training is undertaken and evidenced where required.
* As part of the project senior team, contribute to the identification and mitigation of project risks, ensuring they are quickly identified and communicated to senior management. Assume responsibility for the management and closure of identified actions.
* Work with other senior team members to provide accurate and timely metrics for inclusion in both site progress and financial reporting.
* Deploy a high level of engagement and communication, setting clear expectations, cascading project and company messages. Manage the performance of the quality team through clear objectives and regular reviews.
* Assume responsibility for supply chain audits, reporting findings, preparing actions, and plans for improvement/compliance.
* Support operational team members in factory and site acceptance testing, ensuring processes for these are clear and well communicated.
* Work with the project leadership team to ensure preferred suppliers are engaged and using approved products/materials.
* Establish and maintain key relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring the NG Bailey “right first time” message is clearly articulated.
* Ensure all requisite test, inspection and other evidential records are produced, authorised and stored in accordance with legislative, company and project requirements.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
* Experience of internal auditing of complex systems in line with ISO9001, holding an 2015 ISO9001 Lead/Internal Auditor qualification is also beneficial.
* Previous experience working within quality management, preferably within a highly regulated industry or construction/engineering.
* In-depth understanding of quality principles and relevant legal standards.
* Able to achieve and acquire SC Clearance, if not already held.
