Job Overview
The Senior Engineer is a vital part of our business. They serve as a critical support to engineers and as the first line of management within the leadership team. Typically, they are among the best engineers on the team and, with experience, develop leadership abilities. They are responsible for the day-to-day welfare of their engineers, supported by the RPS and REM. They also focus on continuous improvement of our engineering workforce, contributing to the development of their engineers to ensure team growth. Additionally, they handle difficult conversations with engineers when necessary and foster mutual respect within the team.
Main Duties
1. Ensure audits and compliance are completed on time each month.
2. Manage and own the on-call rota.
3. Serve as an in-region escalation point.
4. Assist the RPS & REM as needed.
5. Coach engineers on awareness topics, such as job responsibilities, use of Verisae, and maintaining high-quality dockets.
6. Control van stock and store inventory (if in region).
7. Possess a technical background as a multi-skilled service engineer.
8. Have basic line management skills.
9. Maintain working knowledge of current standards and codes of practice.
10. Apply critical thinking skills.
11. Be highly self-motivated and dependable.
12. Be adaptable and willing to work flexibly.
13. Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
