1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in SEMH Provision, with experience in managing challenging behaviour
Location: Sudbury
Salary: £ - £100 Per day
Job Duties:
1. Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs and Social emotional mental health needs in a specialist provision.
2. Implement individualised education plans and behaviour management strategies
3. Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
4. Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation
5. Manage challenging behaviour effectively and de-escalate situations when necessary
6. Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students
Required Qualifications:
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
8. Knowledge of SEND Code of Practise and safeguarding procedures
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
9. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
10. Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
11. Understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support students
12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
13. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging situations
Working Conditions:
14. Work primarily within a school setting, - 3:30pm Monday-Friday
15. Full-time hours with occasional flexibility required
16. Regular interaction with students, teachers, and other educational professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
