Qualified Finance manager job opportunity based in Hertford / hybrid working:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts inline with FRS 102, including detailed profit and loss account, balance sheet and variance analysis for the directors.
2. Produce working papers which reconciles balance sheet items back to the management accounts produced each month.
3. Oversee the purchase ledger and sales ledger function.
4. Maintain an accurate general ledger and ensure timely month end and year end close.
5. Support the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
6. Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls and processes.
7. Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting.
8. Monitor business performance against budgets and investigate variances.
9. Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts.
10. Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and prepare and submit monthly CIS returns.
11. Ensure CIS compliance by verifying new subcontractor and ensuring correct CIS Tax deducted at source and paid over to HMRC.
12. Supported by a part time qualified accountant and bookkeeper.
Candidate requirements:
13. ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent qualified accountant with minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.
14. Ideally an accountant who has worked within industry for the last 2 years.
15. Strong understanding of FRS 102 accounting standards, VAT legislation and CIS tax legislation.
16. Strong Excel skills and Xero accounting software experience.
17. Excellent organisation and time management skills and attention to detail.
