Job Title: Sustainability Analyst Location: East Midlands, UK (Site Travel Required) Type: Permanent Salary: £40,000-£45,000 plus package Are you a civil engineering professional with a passion for sustainability and reducing carbon impacts on construction projects? Our client, a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Sustainability Analyst with site experience to join their expanding Sustainability Team. This is a key position supporting the delivery of low-carbon infrastructure, with a focus on collecting site-level carbon data, carrying out life cycle assessments, and supporting the implementation of net zero strategies. The Role: This is a role requiring site visits and is ideal for someone who understands construction environments and can engage with project teams on the ground. You'll work across a variety of live sites, supporting carbon data capture, conducting embodied carbon assessments, and assisting in the delivery of PAS 2080-compliant strategies. You'll also contribute to the organisation's wider sustainability reporting and help drive continuous improvement in operational practices. Key Responsibilities: ·Collect and analyse carbon data from live civil engineering sites ·Support project teams in understanding and implementing carbon reduction practices ·Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) on construction materials and processes ·Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate carbon reporting ·Contribute to SECR, ESOS and other regulatory reporting obligations ·Work to PAS 2080 standards for carbon management in infrastructure ·Assist with the implementation of net zero strategies at a project level ·Support the commercial and procurement teams by providing sustainability input for tenders, including carbon data, life cycle assessments, and net zero commitments ·Use modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to support carbon assessments where required ·Edit and manage sustainability documents and submissions using PDF tools ·Stay informed on relevant standards, legislation, and industry best practice Requirements: ·Background in civil engineering, construction, or a related field ·Prior site-based experience on infrastructure or construction projects is essential ·Strong knowledge of carbon reporting and life cycle assessment methodologies ·Familiar with PAS 2080, GHG Protocol, and net zero principles ·Ability to work confidently across sites and collaborate with diverse stakeholders ·Proficient in PDF editing tools and competent in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) ·Experience with modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD or Revit) is desirable ·Strong analytical and communication skills ·Self-motivated, practical, and keen to drive sustainable change at the project level Package Includes: ·£40,000-£45,000 per annum (depending on experience) ·Car allowance ·Bonus scheme ·Private healthcare ·Pension scheme ·Hybrid working (with regular site travel required) ·Team events and long-term career progression FOOTNOTE: If you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the salary, location or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
