Working hours and pay
Location: Rugby
Hours: 7.30am-4.00pm, Monday-Thursday; 7.30am-12.30pm, Fridays (38 hours per week).
Pay rate: £15-£20 per hour, depending on experience.
Contract: Temporary with a view to a permanent position after a successful trial period.Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MIG/TIG Welder and Sheet Metal Worker to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality metalwork, including bespoke staircases, balustrades, and fences, for commercial and residential projects. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a dedicated and proficient individual.
Key responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine project specifications.
Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, to a high standard.
Execute sheet metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, forming, bending, and shaping using a range of manual and automated machinery.
Operate and set up various workshop machines, such as press brakes, guillotines, and saws.
Assemble and finish fabricated components, ensuring all work meets specified tolerances and quality standards.
Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times, adhering to all company health and safety procedures.
Collaborate effectively with the wider production team to ensure deadlines are met.Essential skills and experience
Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator and Sheet Metal Worker in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
Ability to read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of standard fabrication and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Experience with workshop machinery is highly beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good manual dexterity and physical fitness.
Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player.Desirable qualities
Experience in fabricating staircases, balustrades, or fences.
