Role Description
This is a contract position for a Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor, based on‑site in Reading. The role involves preparing estimates, managing contracts, preparing tender documents, and ensuring cost control throughout a project’s lifecycle. Responsibilities include monitoring project budgets, conducting valuations, cost reporting, and ensuring projects are delivered within the allocated financial constraints. The successful candidate will liaise closely with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to maintain financial accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
* Proven expertise in Quantity Surveying, with experience in both Mechanical and Electrical systems.
* Strong financial and cost management skills, including budget preparation, cost reporting, and account reconciliation.
* Proficiency in preparing and assessing tender documentation, contracts, and estimates.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills to coordinate with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
* Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of construction processes, industry standards, and health and safety regulations.
* Proficient in relevant software tools, such as quantity surveying or estimating software platforms.
* Relevant professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
