We are seeking a skilled, forward-thinking tradesperson to transition into education as a Trainee Carpentry Tutor. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Carpenter to move off-site and into the workshop, where you will help shape the future of the industry. Initally working alongside a fully qualified Lecturer, with a progression route into gaining your own teaching qualifications.

Role Responsibilities
Workshop Delivery: Assist in the delivery of practical, hands-on Carpentry and Joinery instruction within a safe workshop environment.
Skill Development: Support students in mastering fundamental Site Carpentry techniques, tool maintenance.
Mentorship: Guide learners through their practical assessments, offering constructive feedback to ensure high standards of craftsmanship.
Planning & Preparation: Work alongside senior lecturers to prepare workshop materials and learning resources that meet current industry standards.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a rigorous focus on Health and Safety, ensuring all students follow safe working practices within the workshop.
Professional Growth: Engage in a comprehensive training programme to obtain your teaching qualifications while gaining real-world classroom experience.
Note to Applicants: This role is designed for a qualified Carpenter looking to share their expertise. No prior teaching experience is required, but a passion for the craft and a desire to mentor others are essential.
Essential Requirements
A Level 2 qualification or above in Carpentry.
Extensive industry experience in the Carpentry industry.
A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
