Job Description
A tech giant in Glasgow are seeking to bolster their team with a skilled IT Support Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Handle incidents and service requests via the ticketing system, including onboarding/offboarding support and coordination with remote/global IT teams.
* Install, configure, repair, and decommission IT equipment (laptops, servers, network devices, and video conferencing systems), including data migration and software setup.
* Perform network patching and debugging; manage printer maintenance tasks (toner/drum/wastebin replacement) and vendor coordination for repairs.
* Manage IT inventory and stock levels, ensuring accurate tracking of hardware assets and responsible IT waste disposal.
* Provide end-user assistance, including VIP and meeting room/event support, and contribute to the creation and review of knowledge base articles.
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting across various platforms and devices.
* Experience with basic network support, including patching, cabling, and debugging connectivity issues.
* Ability to interact effectively with end-users and global IT teams through Teams/email for issue resolution and remote support.
* Competence in managing inventory, coordinating deployments, and maintaining accurate documentation.
* Capacity to handle diverse tasks such as audio/video setup, digital signage support, and participation in global IT projects at the site level.
