We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join our community and rehab team based at Chartridge Ward in Amersham Hospital. The post holder will support the Ward Sister and team by undertaking administrative tasks related to ward administration, patient feedback, greeting patients and visitors to the ward.
You will act as liaison within the department for patients, nursing staff and other internal/external health professionals - a key position fundamental to the day to day operation of the department.
Main duties of the job
To act as a central liaison and information point in the ward for internal and external multidisciplinary staff, patients and relatives. To deal with all queries in an efficient and courteous manner using judgement and prioritisation skills.
To develop and maintain working relationships with clinical and managerial staff within the department.
To take clear and accurate messages and ensure prompt delivery to the appropriate person.
To process all incoming and outgoing staff correspondence in a timely and effective manner.
To process mail for the Ward responding as necessary/appropriate.
Obtain and disseminate information within the department eg: audits, department meeting.

Education, Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
1. English language GCSE Grade C or above
2. Significant experience in a customer focused environment

3. Significant knowledge of computer system
4. Previous experience in a health care setting

5. Proficient in use of all Microsoft packages, including Excel, minute taking and report writing
