Telford and Wrekin Council Social Worker – Learning Disabilities & Autism Team Up to £31 per hour Telford and Wrekin Council is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our specialist Learning Disabilities and Autism Team. This is a pivotal role requiring expertise in statutory adult social care, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to strengths-based practice. Key Responsibilities You will play a central role in delivering statutory social work and promoting independence, with responsibilities including: * Complex Caseload Management: To manage a caseload and undertake a range of complex Social Work practice interventions that support the bringing together the right services, at the right time, to meet individual and carers outcomes. * Strengths-Based Practice: Ensure that consistent Social Work practice undertakes a strengths-based and positive risk taking approach to managing risk across all case types. * Partnership Working: Work in partnership with relevant Community Partners, Commissioners, and Health and Social Care leads to develop strength-based Social Work interventions to individuals and their carers. * Statutory and Legal Work: Work to a range of legal options to support investigations, safeguarding and ensuring a personalised approach to safeguarding adults. * Review and Audit: Actively contribute to reviewing cases, quality assurance, audits and learning outcomes across the service. Essential Requirements * A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England (SWE) registration. * Significant post-qualifying experience in Adult Social Care, particularly with individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. * Proven ability to work autonomously with complex cases and legal frameworks (e.g., Care Act, MCA). * A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role due to the requirement for community visits across the Telford and Wrekin area.
