We’re on the hunt for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support a child with special educational needs in a primary school in Colchester. This is a full-time role, and for the right person, it could lead to a permanent position. What you’ll be doing: Supporting a child 1:1 within the classroom, helping them access learning and feel part of the school day Encouraging social and emotional development, building trust and confidence along the way Adapting activities under the guidance of the class teacher to suit the child’s individual needs Promoting positive behaviour and keeping the classroom a calm, focused environment Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to track progress and celebrate wins What we’re looking for: Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with SEN (but we’re open!) A warm, reliable presence - someone children feel comfortable with Great communication skills and a team-player mindset A proactive approach and willingness to learn Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is a bonus, but not essential A sense of humour never goes amiss either!
