A 12‑month fixed term Systems Support Specialist post has become available within the East of Scotland Regional Genetic Laboratory Service, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support for all designated Genetics laboratory IT related needs working within NHS Tayside IG and IT Security policies and procedures. This includes support of software, hardware, operating systems, PC applications for laboratory based systems including the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). In addition, extraction and manipulation of data from the LIMS systems to support business activities is required. The individual must be proactive, able to prioritise their workload and work well in a team.
The laboratory provides a modern, high‑quality genomic testing service for NHS Tayside and the rest of Scotland through the Scottish Strategic Network for Genomic Medicine. Co‑located with other laboratory disciplines within Ninewells Hospital, the laboratory provides a testing service for inherited disorders, acquired disease (solid and haematological malignancies) and pharmacogenomics. In addition, the laboratory is the designated national centre for non‑invasive prenatal testing. The Dundee laboratory offers high standards in terms of facilities and expertise to support staff professional and career development.
