SEN Teaching Assistant
Academics are currently working closely with a lovely Primary school in Coventry, the school are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work 5 days a week indefinitely. The position would be providing 1:1 support to a year 3 girl. The student requiring support in and out of the classroom. As a SEN Teaching Assistant we are looking for a candidate with an understanding of mental health specialising in trauma and learning difficulties, the child is not challenging in terms of behaviour, however, the right candidate will be resilient, nurturing and empathetic. The candidate will need to be experienced within learning difficulties and know how to provide the appropriate support academically as well as the emotional support that accompanies academic progression. The successful candidate will be calm, approachable and experienced within the mental health sector. The Position is a full-time, 5 days a week and term time only, the successful candidate will be punctual, reliable and have a burning passion for SEN.
Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience in as a SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in Trauma and learning difficulties or Similar.
* Experienced working with pupils with Learning difficulties and those who have experienced trauma
* Able to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills
* Promote happiness, self-reliance and encourage positive interactions
* Have a very good understanding of Mathematics and English.
* Knowledge of the UK curriculum to help develop student progress.
