Peace Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading main contractor as they look to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to their business.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of complex projects across the Central Belt. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full planning function — from tender stage through to on-site delivery — ensuring that programmes are realistic, achievable, and cost effective.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage detailed construction programmes for both internal and external use
* Produce critical path analyses and progress reports for monthly meetings
* Support Project Managers in producing detailed, resource‑loaded programmes
* Contribute to tender submissions and provide planning input to bids and pre‑construction activity
* Lead buildability and programme risk reviews, ensuring efficient project delivery
* Liaise with commercial, design, and delivery teams to coordinate outputs and ensure subcontractor programmes are achievable
* Monitor design and procurement schedules to ensure information and materials are delivered to programme
* Coach and support site management teams in planning best practice
* Identify opportunities to improve planning systems and software use
Requirements
* Professionally recognised qualification in construction or engineering
* Proven experience in a planning role with a major contractor
* Strong technical understanding of project delivery from pre‑construction through to handover
* Proficient in Asta Powerproject (essential)
* Excellent communication and reporting skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams
* Full UK driving licence
