Overview
Mechanical Technician (Vehicles/Workshop Engineer/Forklifts) at Castleford Depot.
Responsible for mechanical service and repair on a range of forklifts in a busy workshop environment, with a focus on part ordering and progress communication.
Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 Base (DOE). Includes 6% Employer / 4% Employee Pension, overtime at 1.5 and 2.0 times, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, discount benefits scheme and uniform.
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime over 39 hours a week paid at time and a half.
Responsibilities
* Carry out PDIs, service and repair work on forklift trucks.
* Work in a busy workshop environment Monday to Friday.
* Order spares when necessary and communicate progress.
* Perform overtime as required.
Qualifications
* Experience with plant, forklifts, HGVs, agricultural or similar equipment.
* Mechanical service and repair skills, including engine diagnostic and basic electrical skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* IT literacy.
* Ideally holds a Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
