Join us in the role of Cloud Engineer within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence’s National Security division.

Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain cloud-based solutions for national security customers using AWS.
* Collaborate with autonomous DevOps teams to design, develop, deploy and support applications and services on AWS.
* Advise on technology choices, including microservices, API design and infrastructure as code.
* Participate in full delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering to post‑deployment support.
* Work closely with end‑users to understand mission‑critical needs and iterate solutions quickly.
* Maintain high security standards, help secure code and infrastructure, and work with security and compliance teams.
Required Qualifications
* Extensive AWS experience (ec2, ecs, eks, s3, lambda, rds, kms, elb, sns, sqs, iam).
* Strong scripting skills (Shell, Bash, Python) and coding experience in at least one Lambda‑compatible language.
* Proficiency in IaC tools such as CloudFormation, CDK and Terraform.
* Version control proficiency (Git, Mercurial, Perforce).
* Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP).
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Security clearance required; if not currently cleared, eligibility and willingness to complete clearance is mandatory.
Desired/Preferred Skills
* Associate‑level AWS certification (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps).
* Experience with microservices, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS).
* Knowledge of monitoring, observability, FinOps and CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket).
* Automated testing frameworks and Linux administration.
* Networking, routing and firewall fundamentals.
