As part of its evolving strategy, the organisation is seeking a hands-on, commercially astute Financial Controller to lead and modernise the finance function. Key Responsibilities: Take ownership of month-end closing, including preparation of financial statements and management accounts. Oversee and automate the billing process to reduce manual work and improve efficiency. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes. Work closely with external auditors, providing required documentation and explanations. Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning. Regularly review cash flow reports and ensure accurate forecasting. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA). Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within a sporting organisation or a complex multi-entity business. Strong technical accounting skills and experience with month-end closing. Hands-on experience with automating billing and financial processes. Excellent knowledge of financial controls, budgeting, and forecasting. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong work ethic with a hands-on approach and lead by example.
