About Us:
Pathways Learning Centre (PLC) is a specialist alternative provision (AP) school. We provide placements for young people who live in South Gloucestershire but are unable to attend mainstream school for a short period, or who are waiting for long term specialist placements to be found for them. This is an incredibly rewarding place to work and we are looking for a receptionist who shares our passion for working tirelessly to improve the life chances for some of the most vulnerable young people across South Gloucestershire and Bristol.
Role overview:
As a receptionist, you'll play a key role in positively influencing the lives of our students and their families. In collaboration with the Office Manager, you will:
* Help create a warm and welcoming environment for students, families, staff, and visitors.
* Provide a comprehensive reception service including answering phones, making calls, emails and managing general enquiries efficiently, contributing to the smooth and effective functioning of the school.
* Provide high quality administrative support, including maintaining records, organising meetings, supporting with interview days and handling confidential information.
What we’re looking for:
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and patient approach
* Experience in an administrative or receptionist role (experience in a school setting is an advantage but not essential)
* Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (experience with school-specific software such as Arbor is a plus)
* A friendly and professional manner, with the ability to work in a team and use initiative.
