A successful buyer will be responsible for securing excellent deals for the organisation by procuring various commodities and services through the electronic tendering portal. This role requires strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills, as well as the ability to work in a methodical manner and coordinate multi-disciplined teams to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will have experience in highly regulated procurement roles, be CIPS qualified or willing to work towards, and possess excellent communication skills. They will also have a good understanding of best practice procurement under competition law and be able to highlight anomalies in reports, evaluations, and financial data.
In this role, you will be required to maintain accurate records, manage contracts, and develop a procurement strategy that meets the organisation's needs. You will also be expected to provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Procuring various commodities and services through the electronic tendering portal.
* Carrying out contracting activity in line with procurement policy and Competition Law.
* Developing and implementing a procurement strategy for the renewal of existing and new contracts/framework agreements.
* Pulling together effective ITT documents, leading evaluation sessions, negotiating with suppliers, and presenting outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
* Maintaining and managing the contract database, e-Sourcing tool, and protocol for ongoing supplier management.
* Providing advice and guidance to key stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures.
* Researching market data and using it to estimate and negotiate current and future prices and innovations for goods, works, and services.
