Assistant Store Manager
About Us:
Lingrain Storage offers state-of-the-art grain storage facilities from a unique dockside site in the Port of Boston, Lincolnshire. Formed by a group of farmers in 1976, the co-operative now provides a trusted grain storage and marketing facility for farmers in Lincolnshire, North Cambridgeshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
About the role:
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to join our team, who has a ‘can do’ attitude.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the store manager in every aspect of the day to day management of the Grain Store operation
KEY TASKS:
• Operating the SCADA control panel for the site, grain dryers and optical colour sorter.
• Lead the team in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Site maintenance and repairs.
• Intake of grain
• Loading Lorries and ships.
• Assist in preparing managers’ report to be presented at board meetings.
• Assist negotiating with supplies.
• Assist with arranging and managing 3rd party staff on site.
• Assisting in the formulation of the store utilisation plan in conjunction with the Managing Director.
A successful candidate will have:
• Experience of managing a small team of people.
• Previous experience in grain storage desirable but not essential as training provided.
• Ideally the candidate would have good mechanical skills or engineering experience or at least a desire to learn such skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as within a small team.
• Good level of numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good level of IT skills.
• Effective and clear communication skills.
• A ‘can do’ attitude and a strong work ethic.
