The Role:
This role is part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit.
You will gain in-depth knowledge of our product range and have the opportunity to manufacture various ROV assemblies, from components to final testing and sign-off. Additionally, you will learn about real-world performance and perform fault-finding and root cause analysis on returned products requiring servicing or refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture and repair electro-mechanical assemblies, ensuring quality and accuracy.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to assist with assembly and fault diagnosis.
* Perform soldering and electrical loom wiring to high standards.
* Assist with pressure and soak testing of Saab Seaeye components as needed.
* Maintain proficiency in relevant IT systems required for the role.
* Work on complex medium to large electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at the component level.
* Apply 6S principles and lean working practices.
* Maintain professional relationships with team members and other departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
* Act ethically and with integrity, prioritizing the company's best interests.
* Manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
* Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions to challenges.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.
Required Skills:
* Ability to interpret electro-mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
* Proven experience with mechanical engineering practices.
* Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices, such as IPC standards.
* Ability to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB level using fault-finding methods.
* Component-level diagnostics experience is advantageous.
* Formal qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Experience with electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and multimeters.
