This is a key non-teaching role, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school and working closely with senior leadership to ensure operations, compliance, and resources are managed effectively. The role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working in a busy school environment and contributing to a positive experience for pupils, staff, and families. The Role Overseeing the daily operational management of the school Managing premises, health & safety, and compliance requirements Supporting finance processes, procurement, and budget monitoring Line managing site, admin, or support staff where applicable Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and external partners Supporting school policies, procedures, and statutory obligations Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in an operations, business, or school management role Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance within a school setting Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills Confidence managing budgets, contracts, and resources Strong communication skills and a professional approach Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) The legal right to work in the UK School Information This primary school in Portsmouth is known for its nurturing ethos, supportive leadership, and strong sense of community.
