Job Title: Lead PPM Maintenance Electrician – CompEx Certified (Fuel Assets) Location: South West England Salary: £50,000k Van Bens About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead PPM Maintenance Electrician to join our team supporting critical fuel infrastructure assets. This role involves delivering proactive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis, and repair across electrical systems in hazardous (ATEX) areas. As the Lead Electrician, you will supervise and support technicians across multiple fuel depots/sites, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver scheduled PPM tasks on LV/HV electrical systems and control panels Perform diagnostics, reactive repairs, and modifications Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with ATEX/DSEAR regulations Supervise small teams/subcontractors and ensure quality assurance Maintain up-to-date site documentation and complete work reports Liaise with asset managers and site owners (MOD, DIO, terminal operators) Champion health and safety and ensure permits-to-work and isolation procedures are followed Essential Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations CompEx (Ex01 – Ex04) certification – mandatory Proven experience working on electrical systems in hazardous or fuel-handling environments Strong understanding of DSEAR, ATEX, and COMAH regulations Full UK driving licenceAbility to work under minimal supervision and manage workloads effectively Desirable: HV Authorised Person status Experience with MOD or petroleum-based asset infrastructure SSSTS/SMSTS or similar supervisor training ECS/JIB Gold Card
