Service Manager - Planned, Surgical & Children's Care Directorate

Within the Planned, Surgical & Children's Care Directorate at Harrogate District Hospital, we are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community.
We are recruiting for a substantive Service Manager post for our Children's Care group, which covers Specialist Children's Services (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Autism Assessment, Community Paediatrics, Learning Disability Nursing, and Children's Community Nursing) across two sites, one in Northallerton and the other in Harrogate, and Acute Paediatrics which includes our Special Care Baby Unit, Children's Outpatients, and Children's ward within Harrogate District Hospital.
Service Manager posts are key positions within the Planned, Surgical and Children's Care Directorate, responsible for providing day-to-day operational management and support.
Reporting to one of our two General Managers, the successful candidate will work closely with the care group triumvirate team, comprising the Care Group Clinical Lead and Matron, to ensure that we deliver high-quality services, provide an excellent experience for our patients, and meet our regulatory and operational performance targets.
Main duties of the job
The Service Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas across the Harrogate Hospital site. The key aims are:
* Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for all specialities within the Care Group to ensure that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
* Take forward agreed projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas.
* Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.
* To be a key member of Care Group triumvirate team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times.

Qualifications
* oMasters Degree level or equivalent experience
Experience
* oProven managerial and leadership experience level within the NHS
* oExperience of leading and managing teams.
* oProject Management experience including practical experience of managing medium to large scale projects.
* oExperience of planning and managing risk in a project environment.
