My client is a highly successful FMCG business. Due to continued growth and recent investment, they are seeking a Junior Automation Engineer to join their engineering team.
The Automation Engineer's responsibilities within the Maintenance department include managing all automation equipment on site, such as PLCs, inverters, servers, etc., and general electrical maintenance within the factory and management systems.
Position Summary:
1. Support the startup of new automation systems by ensuring code and configurations meet specifications and validation requirements.
2. Effectively manage the factory PLC, SCADA, and IT Network systems, ensuring targets for availability and data integrity are met, and compliance with business standards and audits is maintained.
3. Create user documentation and procedures for new systems, commissioning, and start-up.
4. Provide guidance and support in diagnosing and resolving difficult automation hardware, software, instrument, and process problems to maintain system readiness.
5. Perform general electrical maintenance within the factory.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
1. HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 Engineering
2. Proven experience in FMCG automation or controls systems automation.
3. PLC automation control system start-ups, loop tuning, and control system modifications.
4. Development of process control systems or equipment control applications using PLC ladder and function block logic. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
5. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
