Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and strategic Bid Manager to lead the preparation and submission of competitive bids and proposals. The Bid Manager is responsible for the pre-construction and bid management of projects, with an emphasis on Design & Build, 2-Stage Tender and Framework projects. The Bid Manager will work in tandem with the Estimating Manager to produce holistic and robust tender information.
Responsibilities
* Review the actions required with the Pre-Construction Bid Team and agree roles and responsibilities.
* Ensure compliance with pre-construction processes and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
* Identify and record risks, opportunities and associated costs.
* Develop a construction strategy with the Bid Team and Operations Team.
* Develop margin and 'win' strategies.
* Develop value and cost engineering strategies
* Review construction logistics issues with the Bid Team and Ops Team and agree a build strategy forming the basis for Programme and Prelims
* Ensure the Bid Team understand the information required in the Tender and carry out due diligence on drawings and specifications.
* Ensure the Bid Team understand the questions posed in the tender documents, and how to respond to them to maximise scoring.
Qualifications
* A personable character, accustomed to working directly with clients, consultants and other stakeholders as a representative of their Company.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade, guide and motivate others.Proven experience as a Bid Manager or similar role within a relevant industry sector
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strategic thinking capabilities
* Relevant qualifications in business management or related fields are desirable but not essential
* Construction Industry expereince
