A specialist Autism unit in a primary school is looking for a SEND Teacher (Autism) to join their school on a full-time basis in September to teach in their Autism Resource Base.
The Role
In this role, you will be a full-time teacher within small classes of children with Autism from Early Years to Key Stage 2. Pupils are all on the Autistic spectrum at various levels, and you will have a team of experienced support staff to support the pupils across various activities. Classes will follow an informal curriculum, and strategies will be in place for ASC learners. The school is interested in appointing a qualified teacher with previous experience in a special needs school or a mainstream primary teacher who has a good understanding of Autism.
The School
This specialist Resource Base for Autism is based in an OFSTED outstanding mainstream primary school within a federation of schools in Lambeth. The Resource Base is on a newly renovated site and has 56 places for children with autism in Reception, Key Stage One, and Two, who are working at academic levels below national expectations for their age. There is an established leadership team.
