At Stevens Children's Homes we operate small, family-oriented homes for a maximum of three young people. Operating small homes allows us to achieve a person centred approach for the positive outcomes of the children and young people in our care. By running small homes, we are unique in comparisons to the other residential providers within the sector which run larger homes.
Children's Residential Support Worker:
We are currently recruiting to fill the posts of a full time Children's Residential Support workers. This will be over a Monday to Sunday rota with sleep in duties. Seeking to employ enthusiastic and ambitious individuals looking for a professional challenge, with a desire to make a difference in the lives of children and young people. At Stevens, we provide the opportunity for you to progress within a career within the residential childcare sector.
Experienced applicants are preferred however, full training is given to all successful candidates.

* Full time contracts at 36 + hours per week including 2-3 sleep ins.
* Salary is based upon an hourly rate plus flat rate for sleep ins.

* A comprehensive ongoing training programme to enable you to develop the professional skills in order to excel and progress within the support worker role. This includes enrolment onto the Diploma Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner, upon successful completion of your six-month probationary period. This is fully funded by the company.
* Supportive staff development with opportunity for progression into Senior Support Worker and Lead Senior Support Worker roles. Inclusive of a dynamic well-being support system.
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, your role will entail:
* Maintaining a high quality of care and support which meets the emotional, physical, social, and cultural needs of the young people. Providing a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which the children/young people feel safe and secure.
* Establishing positive relationships with the young people, offering them unconditional and positive regard.
* To act as a keyworker or co-worker for a young person, to ensure all care plans are up to date and all care needs are being met. To be a positive role model, offering advice, guidance, and support where necessary.
* Providing support to the young people in their education, extra-curricular activities, likes and interests.
Key qualities for being a Children's Residential Support Worker:
* Passionate, friendly, and caring in nature.
* Desire to help others achieve their potential, encouraging and enabling our young people to explore and utilise their own strengths.
* The ability to be a professional parent. To form good relationships with our young people whilst maintaining boundaries.
* Works well as part of a team as well as individually, with the ability to think dynamically and work well under pressure.
Schedule:
* 12 hour shift
* 8 hour shift
* Day shift
* Night shift/sleep in
* Weekend availability
Licence/Certification:
* Full Manual Driving Licence (preferred)
