30 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks p.a. Term time only, including inset days).
Monday - Friday 9.30-3.00
Reporting to Deputy Headteacher, Pastoral Job PurposeProvide targeted support for the learning and welfare of pupils with specific wellbeing needs, triaging the Wellbeing pupil flow and guiding pupils as to the specialist support we can offer them.
Facilitating pupils’ access to support and guidance available either in house or through external agencies, so they can fulfil their educational potential and gain resilience and independence.
Duties will include working with a range of pupils both inside and outside of the classroom environment, helping pupils to build confidence, supporting those who need support (either short term or long term) to meet their needsMain Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop knowledge of the needs of the pupils based on their information and seek advice from the Deputy/Assistant Headteachers, SENDCO, Wellbeing/SEND support, the class teacher and outside agencies as required.
2. To run specific programmes and activities to assist pupils’ individual learning and social needs including lunchtime clubs
3. Establish a good relationship with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of, and responding appropriately to individual needs.
4. Run resolution programmes with pupils who are experiencing friendship difficulties
5. Support KS3 Wellbeing Pastoral in managing her caseload and taking on the responsibility for some pupils
6. Liaising with parents regarding emotional, academic and behavioural progress
7. Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.
8. Be aware of and support difference to ensure the pupil has equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
9. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
