Electrical Project Engineer — Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Westhill, Aberdeen - Hybrid working

The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join JFD. The successful candidate will work with a diverse product line in the commercial and defence diving industry where JFD is a leading technology and service provider. Product areas include:
* Commercial Saturation Diving — Electrical control and instrumentation for supporting diving operations, including digital diver communications and integrated diver monitoring and bell control systems.
* Commercial Hyperbaric Systems — Electrical control and instrumentation for monitoring life support in a hyperbaric environment, including high accuracy gas analysis and environmental controls for high ambient pressures in a mixed gas environment.
* Defence Diving — Electronically controlled rebreather and tactical delivery vehicles using advanced battery technology and automation.
* Defence Submarine Rescue — Electrical control and instrumentation for the NATO submarine rescue system capability provided under a multi-year service contract.
You will provide engineering design solutions and through-life engineering support within the Electrical Controls & Instrumentation team. Your role will range from supporting new product design to meet client or internal specifications to supporting legacy systems and managing obsolescence through upgrades.
Key Accountabilities
* Support engineering design input to new products and provide support to the existing product range by answering queries and providing engineering solutions
* Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and create part numbers and bill of materials
* Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification, and reports
* Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation
* Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes
* Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as required
* Compliance with internal and external standards & regulations
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
* Electrical / Electronic / Manufacturing Engineering Degree or equivalent
* Knowledge of electrical design and manufacturing of instrumentation systems
* Experience in 2D / 3D drafting (AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar)
* Preparation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation including specifications and drawings
* Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
* Demonstrated experience in an Electrical Project Engineering role
* Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages
* Ability to obtain SC level security clearance essential
* Previous diving or subsea equipment design experience would be advantageous
* Any relevant diving qualifications would be advantageous
