We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Ford, a category D Prison located in West Sussex.
HMP is an open prison with a capacity for around 550 males. We are recruiting for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our busy healthcare team.
Hours
Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00. Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 08:00 - 11:45. You will get a day off during the week when you work the weekend.
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £33,510 per annum (FTE) depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
* Work with other members of the team to assess the needs of patients and assess risks accordingly
* Provide evidence‑based care to a caseload of psycho‑social patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them
* Provide a programme of psycho‑social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood‑borne viruses and safe sex practices
* Deliver non‑judgemental care on a one‑to‑one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks
* Make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework, following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding

Qualifications and Experience
* Evidence of CPD
* Relevant degree/qualification or equivalent experience
* Knowledge and experience in the provision of structured psycho‑social interventions
* Experience of working within the substance misuse multidisciplinary framework, that includes housing, social care, healthcare, and mental health pathways
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
