Job Title: Dental Nurse

Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and professional Dental Nurse to join our practice. The ideal candidate will provide chairside assistance to the dentist, ensuring that procedures run smoothly and that patients receive high-quality care in a welcoming environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a calm, reassuring manner when dealing with patients. The role will also include elements of supporting at reception with elements of a treatment co-ordinator role when required.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during examinations and treatments.
* Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, including sterilising instruments and ensuring equipment is in working order.
* Support patient care by preparing them for procedures, ensuring they are comfortable, and providing post-treatment instructions.
* Accurately complete patient records and ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations.
* Mix materials for procedures such as fillings, impressions, and restorations as required.
* Assist with taking radiographs (X-rays) under the direction of the dentist.
* Follow infection control protocols and ensure the surgery is cleaned and disinfected according to current guidelines.
* Assist with administrative tasks such as booking appointments, stock control, and ordering dental supplies.
* Uphold health and safety regulations and adhere to the General Dental Council's standards.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing or equivalent qualification.
* Registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
* Good understanding of infection control and health and safety practices.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
* A caring and professional attitude when dealing with patients.
Desirable Skills:
* Previous experience working in a private dental practice.
* Familiarity with dental software for recording patient data and appointment scheduling.
* Experience assisting in specialised dental procedures such as implants, orthodontics, or sedation.
