Prospero Teaching are looking for an Attendance Officer to work in a secondary school in Barnsley
The purpose of an attendance officer is as follows:
1. To contribute to raising achievement by improving school attendance
2. To provide a specialist service to assist the school in meeting their obligations and targets in relation to school attendance, especially persistent absence.
3. To promote positive attitudes by students and families towards education and to ensure that parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities.
4. To make unsupervised contact with families in their own homes and elsewhere to assess the reasons impacting on the attendance of individual students, facilitating their return or access to regular full time education provision.
5. To establish and develop a professional service to support the school in raising attendance, investigating persistent absences and improving punctuality.

9. Duration / Likely Duration – 2 Months +

12. Full time/part time – Full time
13. Minimum rate of pay – Minimum rate £80 per day
14. Hours – 8:00am – 4:00pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
15. 5 x A-C GCSE’s or equivalent
16. Previous experience working in a UK school
17. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
18. Hold Right to Work in the UK
19. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
20. Provide two professional references
